Maine Mendoza to record theme song for AlDub movie?

Maine Mendoza will finally record her first song, and it's going to be the theme song for the upcoming AlDub Movie.

This was revealed during the Kalyeserye episode on June 10 and was confirmed by Vic Sotto on June 13.

When Lola Nidora and Lola Tinidora were asking about Vic's melody for the song, he said it will soon be finished and will be ready for recording by "Divina".

Vic said, "Malapit ninyo na pong marinig, ang kakanta po si Divina." (You will hear it soon, Divina will sing it.)

If this plan pushes through, and it's not just part of the Kalyeserye script, then this would be the first recording of Maine.

FYI,  Maine's iconic Kalyeserye character is Divina Ursula Bukbukova Smash, more popularly known as "Yaya Dub" or the other half of AlDub.

Last Friday, June 10, Maine (as Divina) revealed on Kalyeserye that she had written the lyrics of the theme song for the upcoming AlDub movie.

According to her, Vic will compose the music or melody while the arrangement will be done by Jimmy Antiporda.

Here's an excerpt from the song written by Maine:

All my life I was dreaming
All my life I was searching
All my life I was seeking
For someone I can call my own

Then you arrived all of a sudden
Without a warning, it was you that I saw
Without a warning, it was you who came
You came right when I did not know what to say

You could have been lost
But here you are safe
Don't you ever go astray
What I would give to make you feel okay
I would give it all the way

As Maine read the lyrics while facing Alden, fans were screaming because Alden was looking at her so sweetly, making fans feel the kilig for AlDub all over again.

Anyway, fans of the country's undisputed Dubsmash Queen have been waiting for a long time for Maine to record a song. Though she is not known for hitting real high notes like a diva, her sweet voice is enough to make fans excited about her first recording.

First legit recording. that is. Maine has been recording cover songs for some time, long before she became the phenomenal Yaya Dub. She had uploaded 15 recordings on her account on, If you want to listen to how Maine sings when she's not joking around, here's the link:
